Both father and mother age increases are associated with the risk of autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
However, the form of the association is still unclear and there is a lack of results on the association.
This study tested whether the increase in the age of the father and mother was independently associated with ASD risk and estimated the relevant functional forms.
In the population-
A cohort study from five countries (
Denmark, Israel, Norway, Sweden and Western Australia)
Including children born at the age of 1985-2004 and followed up until the end of 2009-2007, relative risk (RR)
ASD was estimated using logistic regression and curves.
Our analysis included 902 ASD cases in 30 infants.
