Activists urged the government to ban this disturbing trade.
In recent months, customs officials have seized more than 120 dolls, made in the Far East and costing up to £ 1,000.
But legal loopholes mean that while it is illegal to bring them into the country, it is not against the law to own, distribute or manufacture them.
NCA officials
Known as the FBI.
Saying that people who are sexually interested in children buy products from legitimate websites such as eBay and Amazon, he said that it turns out that such transactions are difficult to resolve, because they are difficult to distinguish from perfectly legitimate adult sex dolls.
Yesterday, a former school minister and pastor became the latest to be convicted of importing children's sex toys into the UK.
David Turner, 72, tried to argue that the 3ft in dolls in children's wear were not "indecent or obscene", but in a landmark ruling the judge dismissed the legal challenge.
The married pensioner was arrested on last November after border forces officials intercepted a package containing another doll he tried to import from China.
When he arrested him at his home in Kent Ramsgate, they found another anatomical correct doll that had sex with him, but he claims he bought a "companion" for him and his wife ".
Turner was also found to have 34,000 indecent photos of children, who faced up to 14 years in prison when he was sentenced in September.
After his arrest, Turner resigned from the post of principal of Margate St. ethbert Church Primary School and resigned from his post as director of the Church of St. ethbert and Gertrude Church.
An analysis of Turner's computer shows that he has gone through some sites that have ads for "flat chest love dolls" and "mini silicone sex dolls 65cms small breasts.
But Hazel Stewart of the NCA children's Exploitation and Online Protection Command said the products were also sold on sites such as eBay and Amazon.
Law enforcement officials have been in contact with these companies, but have compared stopping trade to "Reversing oil tankers," she said ".
A spokesman for Amazon said: "All market sellers must follow our sales guidelines and those who do not comply will be subject to action, including the removal of potential accounts.
"Since March 2016, border forces officials have seized 123 dolls in more than a year, and so far seven have been accused of importing dolls, including one who was imprisoned last month.
Dan Scully, deputy director of Border Forces intelligence operations, said it showed that those who ordered the production of the model often strayed into sexual offences.
He said: "By identifying these importance and working with partners, we have found a whole set of people who are interested in having sex with children who are completely unknown.
"The NSPCC has now written to interior minister Amber Rudd asking for an urgent resolution of the gaps in legislation.
In a letter seen by The Daily Telegraph, NSPCC chief executive Peter Wanless said: "It's not a crime to make these dolls, distribute them or own them.
This is confusing and needs to be changed so that the laws related to the child's sex dolls comply with the laws that prohibit the image of the child.
A nspcc spokesperson added: "Before this vulnerability is closed, online retailers with these items to purchase should immediately remove them from sales.
Barnardo's chief executive Javed Khan said: "The import of children's sex toys into the UK is a very disturbing new phenomenon that needs to be addressed through strong legislation and law enforcement.
He added: "The evidence from the NCA shows that there is a clear link between owning these dolls and sexual interest in children, and that the owners are accused of crimes such as having indecent images of children.
