"The RCMP has been aware of the problems for many years and they should have solved them many years ago.
The problem my client wants them to fix now.
The lawsuit has not yet been certified.
Klein said the hearing would not start until at least 2013, and he expected the court to take years.
The lawsuit was brought by Janet Mello, who claimed continued discrimination during her 19 years of age.

After finishing her position as executive director of the Vancouver Police Foundation, McLean said she faced similar discrimination and harassment as a young police woman.
Between 1977 and 1979, a senior male officer repeatedly harassed her, especially when she was driving a cruiser on the night shift.
He would sit next to her for eight hours and encourage her to start a relationship with him while suggesting that it would be good for her career.
McLean rebutted the man's progress, and in the end he did not write her a favorable comment.
She said he had never been disciplined.
In the end, she resigned in order to escape the predicament.
"That's not why we joined the RCMP, we joined a career," McLean said on Thursday . " This is the first time she has publicly disclosed her experience.
"We are not harassed or humiliated by being told that our career depends on whether we are friendly or have a relationship with a direct supervisor.
I do not believe that we have been treated fairly and we have certainly not been listened.
A spokesman for Justice Minister Vic tois said that the government could not comment when the case was brought to court.
"In the past few months, we have heard some extremely disturbing reports about the conduct of RCMP officers," Mike Mueller said in an email . ".
"That's why our Conservative government has made it clear that we will work closely with RCMP chief Bob Paulson to take action to develop tools to restore pride in the Canadian national police force.
Mueller noted that Toews recently submitted the Act on strengthening the accountability of RCMP, which will strengthen the RCMP's review and complaint body.
It was not for her to take part in the proceedings to win damages of any kind.
She wanted to support the female members who told her that they shared their experiences, and many were ashamed to come forward.
She said she wanted justice.
"We have done something and the institutional culture of the RCMP harassing and not accepting these women's equality has stopped," she said . ".
"It must stop.
