Women with potential cancer
A new study shows that if a partner shares sex toys in a close relationship, causing human HPV or HPV may put them at risk.
The researchers gave 12 women two vibrators per person and detected the virus immediately after self-examination
At least one of the vibrators used by all 9 HPV-positive participants was used on stage.
Lead author Dr.
Teresa Anderson, from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indiana, said the small study was the first to study whether the vibrator could spread the virus between sexual partners.
"Sex toys used between same-sex partners are likely to spread HPV," Anderson told Reuters Health Channel . ".
"Clean toys have the potential to reduce the amount of hpv dna that we can detect, so it is possible to reduce the risk of transmission.
"Genital HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the United States.
It is everywhere, known as the common cold in the sexually active world.
HPV may be harmless, but sometimes it can lead to condyloma acuminatum and sometimes cancer. The U. S.

It is estimated that the virus causes about 27,000 kinds of cervical cancer, vulvar cancer, vaginal cancer, anal cancer, penis cancer, head and neck cancer in Americans every year.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that girls be vaccinated with one of two series of vaccines to prevent HPV types that cause most cervical cancer.
Despite immunization efforts, fewer than 54% of AmericansS.
In 2012, girls aged 13 to 17 were vaccinated.
The CDC also recommends that boys get a vaccine.
The current study participants were women between the ages of 18 and 29 who had sex with a male and a female in the previous year.
Anderson said she did not know if the participants were vaccinated against HPV.
Investigators provided each woman with a cleaning product, a vibrator made of thermoplastic elastic material --
Called "Rabbit"Vibrator-
Another is made of soft silicone.
They asked participants to wipe the vibrator immediately after vaginal use, after cleaning and after 24 hours.
The HPV test was positive for 9 participants and the virus was detected on at least one of the two vibrators that gave each of them.
After use, except for six of one thermoplastic vibrator and nine silicone vibrator, HPV was found for the rest.
Even after cleaning, researchers detected hpv dna on five thermoplastic vibrators and four silicone vibrators.
After 24 hours, the silicone vibrator responded better to the cleaning.
The researchers did not detect the virus on any silicone vibrator a day after cleaning, but they did find HPV on both thermoplastic toys.
Anderson said the difference may be related to the pores of the material.
The presence of hpv dna does not necessarily indicate an infection, she noted.
In order to determine whether infection can spread through sex toys, more research is needed, she said.
Cleaning the vibrator may reduce the frequency of HPV transmission, the authors wrote.
They called for more research on sex.
Toy materials, design and cleaning methods that are most effective in reducing virus transmission.

Women also purchased the equipment at parties previously reserved for kitchen products.

He is an infectious disease expert at the University of California, Los Angeles, and has not participated in the current research.
