A lawsuit says female prison guards in Edmonton have long been abused by male colleagues
Workers, including sexual ridicule, personal assault, waterboarding and pepper spray, were placed on the toilet seat.
A female prison guard accused a man
The worker pushed her to the table, put her hand into her trousers, and locked a pair of handcuffs with her underwear.
She said she was caught by choke and her hair hit a hard surface.
Another woman claimed that she was constantly harassed for being gay and that after using the restroom, her hips and thighs had suffered chemical burns, leaving pepper spray on the toilet bowl in the bathroom.
These claims were detailed in the recent Proceedings of the four female guards of the Edmonton agency against the Canadian correctional agency and the Canadian Union of correctional officers.
None of these allegations were confirmed in court and the defense statements were not filed.
The lawsuit says sexual assault, abuse, bullying and harassment have been rampant for decades --

The lawsuit was filed after an investigation into the prison last year, which concluded that the working atmosphere was toxic and put forward dozens of reform proposals.
On January, the Correctional Services Department announced the dismissal of six employees, hired a new warden, improved training, and created a confidential tip line for employees to report misconduct.
The department and the union said in a statement on Monday that while they could not comment on the lawsuit, they did not tolerate harassment.
In addition, Edmonton police are continuing to investigate possible criminal charges in the case.
According to the lawsuit, the corrections department "gave itself a secret veil that managers, senior employees and unions have used to harass and intimidate employees, who have so far been exempt.
"Under this veil, the plaintiff suffered a catastrophic life injury --
The consequences were changed and the defendant failed completely.
"Three of the women were diagnosed with postpartum depression, the lawsuit said.
There is no trauma to working in prison.

But it's hard to wear her uniform every day.
There is no detail on the suit about how the waterboarding happened.
In general, waterboarding is the name of an exercise in which someone is tied and water is poured on the face to simulate drowning.
Jeffrey O'Brien, a lawyer representing the women, declined to comment and said the women would not speak either.
The lawsuit stated that the women were not named in the claim "because of the confidential and secret nature of law enforcement work ".
The name of the alleged perpetrator was not mentioned in the proceedings.
The lawsuit says one of the men has harassed a female guard every day for nearly 10 years.
It is said that he often took out his penis from his trousers and chased her in the office.
When she was drinking, he told her that he had stirred with his penis.
He also allegedly opened a bathroom door near her desk to defecate.
The lawsuit says another police officer then forced her into the bathroom and pushed her face under the man's ass.
"Both men laughed when she screamed and struggled," said the suit.
The lawsuit also claimed that another guard followed the same woman, touched her improperly at work and left the sex toy in her car.
She "has been living in fear of revenge all the time, so she has never spoken publicly," said the suit.
"It is not an option to refer the matter to the union because her abusive person has a position in the Union.
