A thief admitted to stealing a Rampant Rabbit vibrator and lubricant from Ann Summers and was fined for "adverse reactions" to her bipolar pills.
Elizabeth Penman, 36, stole £ 55 worth of sex toys and cream from a lively commercial Street store in Kent's Royal Tunbridge Wells. The mother-of-
The two recently changed medicine for mental illness, admitted a theft charge and was fined 180.
James Nichols, who sued, told the Seven Oaks magistrate court: "One day Mrs. pemman was seen in Tunbridge Wells.
Someone saw her go to the back of the store if she was a sex toy.
A staff member saw her take a vibrator and put it in her handbag and he challenged her.
"He said she went back to that place and he thought she had put it back, but when he checked CCTV later he noticed that she didn't and actually she had some cream too, left the store without paying.
When she walked back to her car, she was stopped and both items were found.
She fully admitted what she had done at the police station, and there was no issue of compensation.
Brian Ferris, who defended pemman, said she had bipolar disorder and that the theft could be due to changes in her medication.
He said: "In February, her medication changed and she had an adverse reaction to the medication and ended up in the hospital.
During this time, the crime happened.
She doesn't want to blame her medication or illness for what happened.
She can't really explain why she did something.
Judge Jeff Owen told Penman: "We have listened to all that has been said and we will deal with this issue through fines.
We have considered your plea.
You will be fined £ 75 because you have committed this crime because you pleaded guilty, which has been reduced for a third time.
You will also pay £ 85 for the complaint and £ 20 for the victim surcharge.
