Sleep Mask, mobile phone charger, sex toys
Not the kind of thing you expect the university student to store in the office.
The staff of the provincial Student Association, after receiving dozens of unwanted and unsolicited emails, have been scratching their heads for shipments from Amazon in the past few months.
Since October, the parcels have arrived anonymously at the University of Lethbridge student union, with no return address, sometimes twice a day.
So far, 38 mystery packages have been delivered to L's U, from cell phone chargers, cameras, wallets, jewelry making kits to about six personality toys.
"It's a question mark, but we find it humorous at this point," he said. xa0Cheri Pokarney, general manager of the student union at Lethbridge University, said.
When the package started arriving, Pokarney said, she thought the items were for other university departments and sent them to the student union by mistake.
But when no one claimed the mystery package, she began to worry and asked Amazon for help.
She said: "We tried to contact Amazon, but there was actually no tracking number . . . . . . We really don't know who sent it . ".
"Legally, what responsibility do we have for these items, so now, we stick to them.
"Similar scenes were also staged at Mount Royal University.
More than 30 packages have been deliveredxa0The student association of Mount Royal University has included wireless earplugs, dog tags and more sex toys since November.
Lisa Antichow, executive manager of the association, said the organization now refuses to deliver unsolicited packages.
Amazon is investigating who sent the packages to the association and why it did so, saying that the unsolicited packages violated the company's policy.
"We have confirmed that the seller concerned has not received Amazon's name or delivery address," the company said in a statement . ".
"We remove sellers in violation of our policy, withhold payments and take appropriate action in cooperation with law enforcement.
The Calgary Police Department said they knew the situation but did not investigate.
Some associations say they may use the items as prizes or giveaways once they get the full amount of information from Amazon.
Stephanie nedostko, president of the MacEwan University Student Association, said they received at least 10 packages.
But unlike me and MRU's U. xa0No risque items were received from MacEwan University.
"We didn't get any sex toys," she said . ".
"Our Sex Week actually started on February. 12 to Feb.
15 . . . . . . It would be great if there were some interesting items to give away.
But at the University of Calgary, only one mysterious package was delivered, and the student union said it was back at Amazon.
Student union president Branden Cave said: "As far as I know . . . . . . It has light bulbs and wifi repeater . ".
"I don't know what to do.
