Meenalochani had an interesting childhood.
When playing with regular toys with children of her age, she has more interesting toys.
These are toys made of waste by her grandfather.
She learned the art of using waste, and when choosing a career, she chose to be a teacher and inherit her grandfather's legacy.
She became a craft teacher and has been teaching at Kola Perumal Chetty Vaishnav High School in arumbakam for the past 24 years.
She recently participated in the foreign exchange teaching program, organized by Cude Arts and Crafts College in Hawaii, where her work was appreciated and declared the best teacher from 10 countries.
Speaking of her experience, she said, "The project is one month long and I am expected to teach handicrafts based on the materials available on the island.
I teach them how to make handmade products. to-
"Everyday items made of dry leaves, shells and wood," she said . ".
The organizers were impressed with her work and they invited her to serve as the coordinator for next year's event.
She said that because of her grandfather, she learned to think in different ways and to save things.
"He was my real source of inspiration.
When I was a child, I was in awe of what he did.
"He will use items that are considered useless and turn them into available products," she said . ".
However, if she does not receive any encouragement from the school, she does not have the opportunity to present her art.
"I have been teaching here for many years and I stress that my students should learn how to protect and preserve.
I teach them organic plastic. free.
With the help of my students, we have a rooftop garden.
With the support of management, I have received various awards at the regional and national levels.
