The Hollyhock Doll - toys for women
Happy summer everyone
What a big moment of the year!
Outdoor Bar family party-b-
All the activities excited the children.
I recently released a recipe for Hollyhock salad sauce and proposed a note on how to make the Hollyhock doll I used as a photo prop.
Holly Hawkes and other edible flowers are very popular in Victorian times.
The children made Hollyhock dolls to play with, and the woman added the flowers to the salad and made tea with them.
I don't think they have to worry about chemicals in those days.
When I was a child, I always made dolls and doll clothes because my parents didn't have the money to buy toys for six children except for Christmas and birthday.
We can always find a lot of fun things to play.
The Hollyhock doll may be used for food plating, but I'm not sure.
I decided to make a few dolls and make some Hollyhock salad with organic Hollyhock flowers to make the salad look beautiful.
This Instructure will show you how to make Hollyhock doll and use it for food plating.
Please pay attention to safety and definitely make sure you use edible organic flowers to protect the safety and health of your family and friends.
This is an entry for the Instructure contest, so if you like it;
When the voting button is in cornor in the upper right corner, I would like to thank you very much for your vote.
Thank you in advance.
Let's make some dolls!
Please note: these dolls need to be made with flowers and herbs that do not spray chemicals.
If decorated with dolls, they must be edible even for the sake of appearance to be very safe.
There are several ock flowers and buds, as well as Rosemary or plant stems.
Carrots, apples or radishes prepared for the booth.
All you need is a little thing that you usually throw away.
Lips are marked with food safety in red or pink and eyes are marked in black or blue.
Super long toothpicks or something of a similar size.
The skewers around are too big to tear the flowers.
Large needles or needles poking holes in flowers. Scissors (not shown).
Towels or paper towels or napkins.
A medium-sized bowl.
Pick edible organic flowers and herbs.
Choose a firm flower.
Wash and dry: Wash and dry flowers, buds and rosemary.
Dry with a paper towel.
If you're not going to do this right away, put them in a bowl of water and put them in the fridge for hours.
These dolls are best made shortly after picking.
If decorated with them, they need to be made before serving so they don't wither too fast.
As you can see, I used the end of a little bell pepper at the booth.
I made these dolls a few times, but the carrots worked best for the booth.
Make the bracket: Cut the carrot end for the doll bracket, as shown in the figure.
Poke a hole in the carrot with a needle or pin.
Insert a long toothpick in the center.
Well, I have to admit that this part is tricky because hollyhock is a fragile flower.
Later I found that it was better to poke holes in the arms and flower center with pins.
You may have ruined a few flowers.
Carefully cut the stem from the flower and carefully remove the shame of the flower so that the flower is still intact (
But it's a bit flat inside so you can poke a hole in the center).
Poke a hole in the center of the flower with a pin.
Draw the face of the doll: decorate the eyes and mouth on the face of the doll with food safety marks.
One may stick the arm to the doll under the petals with a little syrup or honey.
Or you can paint the toothpick in the color of your arm.
I love the mysterious look of a Rosemary doll.
You can use a flower or a layer of flower as I do my clothes with two flowers.
I use the little flower on the top.
Carefully place the skirt on the doll holder, giving the toothpick enough space to go through the top of the skirt to connect the doll's head.
If the dress is not placed in the right place, you can attach it to the toothpick and fix the dress in the right place with a small piece of carrot.
Use a PIN to poke the hole in the arm carefully, or carefully slide the rosemary over the petals and add something honey or very sticky.
This part is difficult and may take several attempts. (
The photo shows I used a toothpick but the pin works better).
I don't need to use honey, but it took me a couple of times to get the hole done and stick rosemary to the hole to make the arm.
As shown in the figure, put rosemary through the hole in the arm.
Put your head at the top of your toothpick.
Put a small piece of flower on your head as a hat if needed.
Here is how to dry the doll.
I just put the doll in a safe place away from any activities of my family.
I put mine in my kitchen to dry.
You can decorate them with them or put them in a bowl of popopouri.
I like the idea of putting them in a small glass bottle or bottle with cork.
Making things like Hollyhock dolls is always a lot more fun than buying them.
I made pasta salad, green salad with dolls and petals, and I dried the dolls in potatoes.
The green salad is so beautiful!
I think even those guys like it.
I hope you will be inspired to do some enjoyment for your family.
I would like to thank all of you for coming and wish you all a safe and happy summer!
