This simple way of silicone mold-
Making models that will make you want to make all the trinkets and toys.
You need: 2018 edit: If you want to live with this mold making technology
Casting or food casting, these molds are not skin or food safe.
I recommend these kits: high by mixing
Concentrate the soap with the water in the bowl and actually make a catalytic bath for your silicone.
The glycerin in the soap accelerates the curing process of 100% pure silica gel.
This is by no means an exact science, I use a blue pan soap because it allows me to see how much I add to the tub and I use about 4 ounces.
64 oz soap. of water.
Cut the tip of the silicone caulking tube and put it into the caulking gun.
Remove enough silicone to surround the desired objects into the bathtub.
I usually use the whole tube.
Dip your hand on the plate
A soap catalytic bath gently string silicone together.
Make it into a ball and massage slowly.
Fold it, stretch it and work like a knead dough.
When it starts to become less resilient and stiff, it's time to incorporate your positive side into your material.
In this case Mike helped me and we used his dinosaur Jesus. (hay-zoos)
The best way to make sure the mold is waterproof is to add a thick-
The ish layer of silica gel to the surface area of your object.
Please note how the dinosaur's body is surrounded by about 1/2 silicone.
Also, I found a lot of dinosaurs because I only cast half of that number.
You want to make sure you can still swing your graphics in the mold without getting caught, otherwise the extraction can be very tricky once the mold is set up.
It takes about an hour to completely heal the mold before you use it.
Let your object stay in the mold when curing.
When the mold is no longer tacky to the touch and feels stiff, gently remove your front.
We put this mold on top of the fridge and put a little soapy water on the plate so the silicone doesn't blend with the paper plate.
Also, this part smells bad.
Make sure you finish all this in a well.
Ventilation space.
We made the shining reproduction of Jesus with transparent cast resin and glitter.
When the resin began to solidify, we set up three LEDs in his body.
